Steel grating covers of GT type to be used for normal side ditches and crossing ditches
The steel grating covers to be used at driveways are divided into side ditches covers and crossing ditches covers as per the driving directions. The covers of which the bearing flat bars are perpendicular to the driving directions are called side ditch covers, and the bearing flat bars are parallel to the driving directions are called crossing ditch covers.
1 Steel grating covers of GT type is suitable for roads except highways, and normally with less traffic. When to be used for the crossing ditch covers, it is necessary to consider the risk of spring up of grating covers. It is suggested to use grating covers which are fixed with bolts. The corrosion is prevented by hot dip plating method.
2 Steel grating covers of GT type is suitable for T type ditches, i.e. with abutment and beads, and usually beads are built with angle steel.
3 Steel gratings of GXXX/30/100 type is normally used, the other types may also be applicable. The grating covers be used at public places shall be the type of gratings with pitches between crossing bars of 50mm.
